HEAVEN HEARS
Heaven Hears is the title of the new Lindy Boone Michaelis book about the terrible accident of her son (And Pat and Shirley Boone's grandson), Ryan Corbin. If you have the opportunity to read it, your life will be touched deeply. I have known the Boone family for over forty years and admire their strong faith and understanding of how to pray in power. Their eyes are always lifted above their circumstances to where they know their true help comes from. Ryan's accident was so devastating he was not expected to live through the night. That he did live is nothing less than a miracle. But it has been miracle after miracle after miracle in his long road to recovery. And there are miracles still ahead. It is the story of a family -- especially a mother -- for whom giving up was not an option. Her love was so unwavering that it refused to be weakened. This story will give you hope that with God nothing is impossible. And to those who believe in the God of the impossible, all things are possible. It will change your life.
I just received a copy of the book signed by Lindy -- and Ryan! Along with it came the most recent photo of Ryan - a handsome young man with a beautiful smile and a sparkle in his eyes. He still very much needs our prayers. But you would never know it from this picture. All praise be to God for that.

TEXAS EXPLOSION
Lord, our hearts are grieved once again over the loss of innocent lives, this time in the unimaginable explosion near Waco, Texas. So many people just living their day to day life as best they can and for no fault of their own they are gone, or their homes are destroyed, or they have suffered life-changing injuries. It is a tragedy that is too much for anyone to bear, so we ask that You would pour out Your Spirit on this community and bring the comfort and healing that cannot be found any other way. We pray for the families and loved ones of the deceased and injured. Be with them in their time of loss and help them through this. Help them to sense their never-ending need for a Savior, Protector, Provider, and Helper, Who can only be found in You, Lord. Enable them to sense Your healing presence with them every minute of every day.
Enable people to get to the bottom of how this happened and why so that it can be prevented from ever happening again.
In Jesus name I pray.

PRAYER FOR THOSE SUFFERING IN THE BOSTON TRAGEDY
Lord, we pray for all those who have been injured in the Boston terrorist bombing that they would be healed and restored. We pray especially for those who have had amputations, that they would be able to sense your comfort in this tragic time of loss. For anyone still clinging to life we pray that You would touch them with Your healing power and restore them to wholeness. We pray for all the family members of the injured to find peace in the midst of this horror. We pray that You would be with the families of the people who were killed. We know that nothing can replace their unimaginable loss, but we pray that Your presence will make the unbearable something they can live through. If we can take some of that burden from their shoulders in our prayers for them, enable us to do that.
We pray that the person or persons responsible for this tragedy will be found and will face all the consequences for the murders and attempts to murder. We pray they will not escape to do this again somewhere else, but they will be put away from society for the good of everyone. Bless the people who helped to save others without hesitation for their own safety. May they be rewarded every day with the same comfort they gave to comfort the injured.
In Jesus' name we pray,

THE 411 ON WHY I'VE BEEN M.I.A.
I am so sorry that I missed the last two weeks of blogs. You see I have been writing a book, the deadline of which has long past. It was a difficult book to write because of the subject matter and all the enemy opposition to it. And the only way I was ever going to finish it was to shut off everything and concentrate on nothing else. I did this and I am happy to say that the book is done just this week. I will tell you more about the book in the weeks to come. In fact, I cannot wait to do that.
Right now I want to tell you how much your readership and communication with me on Facebook and Twitter and e-mails and in person at events where I have been speaking have meant to me. I hear from the men and women on my team, working to help me do what I do, that you all are the nicest people they have ever had the pleasure of meeting and communicating with. I already knew that. But I am glad they see it. Because you truly are amazing. Really. I am not just saying that. You are the kindest people with the most beautiful hearts. I never want to disappoint you by being M.I.A. If I am, you can count on the fact that I am battling the enemy over territory he thinks he can steal and I have gone into my prayer closet to take it back.

HOW DO WE HEAR THE HOLY SPIRIT?
God wants to communicate with us. He asks us to pray to Him; and He desires that we listen for His quiet voice speaking to our heart. That's because He wants to lead us every day in every aspect of our lives. But how do we hear the Lord? There are two ways.
First, God speaks to us through His Word. The more we read or hear His Word, the more we learn to identify His voice. In fact, if you don't learn to hear God speaking to you from His Word, you will not be able to hear Him speak to your heart about the specifics of your life. Every time you read God's Word ask Him to speak to you from it and He will give you a new level of understanding that you did not have before.
The second way God speaks to us is by His Holy Spirit. When we receive Jesus, He gives us His Spirit to dwell within us. "If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His" (Romans 8:9). When you put your faith in Jesus, you are "sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise" (Ephesians 1:13). His Spirit in you is the proof that you are His. When you say, "Lead me, Holy Spirit. Speak to my heart" and listen carefully for the voice you have learned to identify in the Spirit-breathed Word of God, you will soon begin to recognize the Holy Spirit leading you into all He has for you.
